The assignment of the diploma thesis was preceded by the course NGA056 Specialized studio on the topic Architectural study of the cycling stadium of the Favorit Brno sports organization. The result of this pre-diploma project was the evaluation of the current condition of the velodrome and the creation of an option for its possible modification or demolition. The diploma thesis is a continuation of the previous project and in the form of a study it elaborates a proposal for a new building of the cycling stadium of the Favorit Brno sports organization. The newly designed velodrome responds to the current requirements of track cycling, such as the length of the track (250 m), the track material, the roofing of the building, and it also takes care to meet all the needs of athletes and visitors. The building is situated on the site of the original velodrome in Brno-Pisárky.

The aim of the diploma thesis is the architectural design of the stadium for track cycling. It deals with a covered hall, which is located in the area of Komárov on the territory of the sports resort Hněvkovského. The urban design ofthe territory is elaborated simultaneously with the study of the hall. The resort offers a wide range of sport fields for recreational as well as top athletes, and the new velodrome hall should dominate the entire area. The buildingprovides background for the important cycling club TJ Favorit Brno. It also responds to the current requirements of track cycling and thus enables the organization of international races.

The thesis was preceded by a specialized atelierwork "architectural study of BMX track of the Favorit Brno. Further elaboration of the architectural and urban study of the sports complex in Komárov with the presumption of the dominant of the cycling hall. Evaluation of existing buildings and newly designed sports facilities. The diploma thesis deals with the development of a new concept of the area, where it will have its place for both professional and recreational sports. The aim of the proposal is to create a significant area both professional and recreational sport. The main part of the work is devoted to the design of o new cycling stadium owned but TJ Favoritisms Brno. The hall should have sufficient capacity and facilities to hold international sporting events in cycling. At the same time it should be useful for smaller races and other events. Another requirement is that the stadium can provide enough facilities for the TJ Favorit Brno cycling club. The home base is currently a cycling stadium at the Brno Exhibition Grounds. This stadium is currently inadequate, serving only as a training course. It does not meet conditions of the international Federation od UCI. The design of the variable space of the hall deserves a further attention at least, because it will serve athletics of other sporting events. The cycling stadium is located in the northern part of the grounds. It place emphasis on the scattered surfaces in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, easy orientation and layout of entries from all sides of the object, separation of athletes from spectators. The main expressive element is two masses, one of which allows the public to climb the ramp along the perimeter of the stadium to lookout points. From the ramp you can see the action inside the stadium. The attractiveness of the entire area is enhanced by the proposed traffic playground and bombrack. The total area will be separated from traffic. 3 new car parks will be built in the area.

The diploma thesis is focused on an architectonic study of cycling stadium in Brno Komárov that shall substitute the current velodrome at Brno´s fair ground that does not conform to current Olympic standards and that shall provide new and better conditions not only for the club Favorit Brno base but also for other enthusiastic sportsmen of track cycling. The study regards also the future adding of another sport, of athletics as Brno has not enough of covered training areas. That is why I add the cycling with this sport in my diploma thesis so that the building can offer its maximum not only to top sportsmen but also occasional sport enthusiasts and to enrich its surroundings to its maximum. The building design uses combination of concrete, steel and glass. Large glass façade is shielded with a great roof overlap that shall provide a natural shielding in summer period. The diploma thesis was preceded with a specialised atelier TG02 that was focused on the development of adjacent surfaces, on the BMX track that should closely cooperate with the new cycling stadium. The specified territory in Komárov Brno presents a great sport potential that shall be developed in the future.

The assignment of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of a cycling stadium - velodrome in the Pisárky district in Brno for TJ Favorit Brno. The existing velodrome is located southwest on the edge of the Brno Exhibition Center on Křížovského Street. The Velodrome no longer meets the current requirements of track cycling, but it is historically valuable and has its genius loci. The new 250 m long wooden bike track (together with other parameters of the International Cycling Union) and its associated sports grounds are "inserted" into the existing velodrome, which is modified and reconstructed according to requirements. The grandstands have been preserved. The built-in building with a new track is then completely roofed, creating an enclosed space. As part of the stadium reconstruction, a new facility was also created for TJ Favorit Brno from a modular container system; These are changing rooms for athletes, administrative areas, and facilities for visiting clubs and athletes and IP areas. The container construction system for sports facilities is very practical, economical, fast, environmentally friendly, variable, and flexible to the current requirements of a constantly evolving sport. The Anteroom and ground floor in the southern part of the existing velodrome is equipped with services for the public: a cafe, souvenir shop, cash register, information center, service, and a bicycle and sports equipment store. The new track with grandstands is covered with ETFE foil anchored to new lattice trusses, which are connected to the existing roof.

Urban study thesis deals with the more efficient utilization of the Brno Exhibition Centre in the longer term. The natural boundaries of the area in the alluvial plain formed on the northeast Hlinky street and Žlutý kopec, from the south-west street Bauer then head along the river Svratka. Thanks to its location near the city center and direct connection to the Prague highway is an important area ideal for design features of national importance. The aim is to open area all year round to the public and offer a diverse year-round and daily functional use. The effort is in place to attract as many people who will want to return. The original idea is to complete the entire structure of the new buildings in the western part of the terms of the original urban concept axes going from Pavilion A. The territory is divided into four functional zones - exhibitions, sport and recreation , work, education and culture. Additional functions of housing and facilities for the needs of the exhibition as well as other companies. In terms of transport, emphasis is put on pedestrians, cyclists and calmed character of motorized traffic. The area intersects several hiking trails connecting the Hlinky street and Bauerova street.

The main part of the work is devoted to the design of a new cycling stadium owned by TJ Favorit Brno. The hall should have sufficient capacity and facilities to hold international sporting events in cycling and athletics. At the same time it should be useful for smaller races and other events. Another requirement is that the stadium can provide enough facilities for the TJ Favorit Brno cycling club. The home base is currently a cycling stadium at the Brno Exhibition Grounds. This stadium is currently inadequate, serving only as a training course. It does not meet the conditions of the International Federation of UCI. The design of the variable space of the hall deserves a further attention at least, beacuse it will serve athletics or other sporting events. The cycling stadium is located in the northern part of the grounds. It places emphasis on the scattered surfaces in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, easy orientation and layout of entries from all sides of the object, separation of athletes from spectators. The main expression element of the exterior is a glazed facade wall, with a perforated sheet metal. Providing night lighting and putting visitors into action. The attractiveness of the whole area is enhanced by the newly designed park. A café and relaxation areas are also proposed. The total area will be separated from traffic. Two parking spaces with sufficient capacity for the whole area will be created at its edge. Transport within the premises will only be accessible for service and operation.

Geodetic syrvey of velodrom in Prostějov

The main object of bachelor thesis is geodetic survey racetrack real status of the velodrome in Prostějov, determination of its length and as well as identification of specific elements. In the introductory part of the thesis there are information’s about location and the description of used measurement methods. Next parts deals with own surveying of the velodrome and with others important elements in the track area. GNSS technology was used for building the network of auxiliary measuring points. After that, with tachymetrically method the detailed points were measured. In the last part a processing of measured data is described. The result of this thesis is a planar plan in scale 1:250.

The diploma thesis extends the architectural study of the undergraduate project, which was focus on the topic of buildings with a sports content. The aim of this diploma thesis is design of specific stadium for track cycling competitions at the level of Olympic buildings. Design of building also contains the necessary operational and technical background of the construction. The main idea of the project was to create a building providing dignified areas for sports, spectators, multifunctional and, last but not least, a quality and functional architecture. It is also necessary to create club spaces for members of the Favorit Brno cycling club and also for visitors to sport events. The building consists of one main mass of the building, which is divided both, operationally and dispositionally into several units and floors. The main goal of the project was to create a simple velodrome mass that will be able to respond to the fragmented surrounding buildings and also create a comprehensive public space. Interior of the round stadium with a radial floor plan is sophisticatedly divided into tracts, which are served by a system of corridors. The race track itself is then located on the 2nd floor. An important factor of the design was also enough light, which is necessary to get into a large part of the massive building. The rough dimensions of the building are about 120 m in diameter and 21 m in height. The underground floor, which is used primarily for parking, reaches a depth of 3.8 m. The architectural study also includes the use for selected existing buildings, such as the building of the Favorit sports club, that will contains catering operation, important areas with energy of the building, as well as administrative and club premises.
